Alex Di Sciullo Jones is a Research Engineer at UL Solutions, having held that position since 2014, where he specializes in Metallurgy and Corrosion, as well as the aging of electronics, designing mechanical testing, and investigating component failures. His past experience includes working as a Materials Engineer at Case New Holland, where his focus was on failure analysis (including hands on experience with hydrogen embrittlement failures) and quality testing. For education, he received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and M.S. in Materials Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). His recent work with hydrogen includes publishing a white paper entitled “Potential Effects of Hydrogen on Materials in Appliances” and he is currently investigating the potential for hydrogen leakage in residences.
